What's New at Phi Who

The end of March was busy for Phi Who! We found Homecoming partners, planned some parties and raised money with video games. Also, the house manager is making some much needed repairs to the house, Greek week is now in the planning stages, an undergraduate run website will be created and brothers welcomed their moms and dads for Parents' Weekend. This has been fun and hectic semester for the brothers!

Homecoming

  • At chapter this week, we voted to confirm our interest in Sigma Alpha sorority for our homecoming partners. They voted us as their number one choice as well, so we are to be partners next fall.

Social

  • We recently held a 4-way with SNAP, Beta Theta Pi, and Orchesis and a social with Sigma Alpha (they will be holding their initiation night at our house from 9 to 10 in the basement). Sigma Alpha is our homecoming partner, so we are looking forward to this good opportunity to socialize. We will be holding our Beach Party event April 12th and 13th.

Philanthropy

  • Our Super Smash Brothers tournament raised $340 dollars this past weekend. Unfortunately, our brotherhood did not walk away with 1st place. Pictures of the event are attached to this email; please feel free to take a look.

Intramurals

  • We are signing up for badminton, table tennis, and arena football.

House Manager

  • The project for the week will be to hang the curtains back up in the main living area of the house and finding a permanent, and effective solution to the curtain-ripping-down problem. A Velcro method has been used previously and we are working on improving it.
  • After the curtains, we will be working on fixing up the volleyball court before Greek Week and our beach party.

Kitchen

  • The dishwasher has broken again. This seems to be a reoccurring problem. Fixing it is not difficult though; we are working on that issue right now.
  • The brother who initially held the recycling chairman position has stepped down and passed on the duty to our President, who will continue the duty of dropping off the recyclables once a week at Nittany Co-op.

Risk Management

  • Successful weekend with good times and no fines. All duties were worked and we ran into no problems during social events and with our guests.

Greek Sing

  • Our Greek Sing chairs have been getting a jump start on contacting other Greeks for pairings. Most do not have chairs elected, quite yet. Right now we are working on some networking until the time is right.

Greek Week

  • Greek Week will take place the week after Beach Party. The theme for Greek Week will be "America." We have tank-top concepts in development.

Quo Vadis

  • Currently, we have a tentative schedule of events planned for the trip. The event will be held at Stone Valley as it has been in the past.

Website

  • Our Webmaster has been working on creating an undergraduate-maintained website for the brotherhood. We are working on posting it as soon as possible; money is the barrier in the way of completion. The webmaster is looking to have it posted this Thursday on a free domain temporarily if necessary.

Parents Weekend

  • Parents weekend is coming up the weekend of the 6th. Invitations are being sent out to parents as contact information is sent in by the brothers.

Other Business

  • One of our brothers, Pawel Chrzanowski, is running for Off Campus Representative for Student Government with Emily McDonald and Gokul Sunder (two of his friends). Pawel spoke briefly at chapter and has asked eligible brothers to consider voting for him. We are eager to see a positive result in the election and are proud to have a brother becoming involved in Student Government.
